The Sinsear

A sweet and spicy fall cocktail.

From the beautiful cookbook by the team at Cherry Bombe, The Sinsear is the perfect antidote to fall’s chill, with sweet apple cider and spicy ginger highlighting the warming qualities of bourbon. From Yvette Leeper-Bueno, owner of Harlem restaurant Vinatería, the drink was one of the first cocktails on the menu and remains a favorite among regulars.


  • 2 oz. bourbon
  • 1 oz. apple cider
  • 1 oz. fresh lemon juice
  • 1 oz. simple syrup (1:1)
  • 1 Tbsp. grated fresh ginger
  • Tools:shaker, strainer
  • Glass:rocks
  • Garnish:fresh sprig of rosemary


In a shaker, combine the bourbon, cider, lemon juice, simple syrup and ginger. Add some ice and shake. Strain into the glass over fresh ice, then garnish.
