The Michedore

A blend of perky tomatillos and fresh tomato make this Michelada as fragrant as your backyard vegetable garden.

1 1/2 oz. añejo tequila
1/2 oz. fresh lime juice
1/4 oz. agave syrup
Dash spice mix (see below)
1 small heirloom tomato, diced
1 small tomatillo, diced
2 sprigs fresh cilantro
2 oz. light Mexican lager
Tools: muddler, shaker, strainer, fine strainer
Glass: cocktail
Garnish: salted rim

Muddle tomato, tomatillo and cilantro in a shaker. Add remaining ingredients, except beer, and shake with ice. Double strain into a chilled cocktail glass and top with beer. Garnish.

For the Spice Mix
2 Tbsp. cayenne pepper
2 tsp. smoked paprika
2 tsp. celery seed
1/2 tsp. habanero powder
2 tsp. salt
