Roasted Orange Negroni Sbagliato

Charred orange lends a new layer of complexity to this updated Sbagliato.

An alternative to the traditional Negroni Sbagliato, the Roasted Orange Negroni Sbagliato at dell’anima is “perfectly balanced with something for everyone—a hint of sweet, a touch bitter, bubbles, and an amazingly sublime char note from the roasted oranges that have been soaked in sweet vermouth,” says general manager Danir Rincon.

Ingredients

  • 1 orange wedge
  • 1 oz. Carpano Antica sweet vermouth
  • 1¼ oz. Campari
  • 1¼ oz. lambrusco bianco
  • Tools:gas stove or grill, mixing glass, muddler, strainer
  • Garnishes:orange peel
  • Glass:rocks

Preparation

Lightly char the orange wedge over a gas burner or on a grill. Let cool. In a mixing glass, muddle roasted orange with vermouth. Add Campari and ice, and stir. Strain into an ice-filled chilled rocks glass and top with sparkling wine. Garnish.
