San Diego bartender Eric Gigers uses a simple salt solution to elevate the flavors of this 1:1:1 cocktail.


  • 1 oz. blanco tequila
  • 1 oz. dry vermouth
  • 1 oz. Campari
  • 4 drops concentrated saline solution (see below)
  • Tools:mixing glass, barspoon
  • Glass:rocks
  • Garnish:lemon twist


Combine ingredients in a mixing glass and stir to chill. Strain into a rocks glass over a large ice cube. Garnish.

Salt solution: Combine 4 oz. of room-temperature water with 1 oz. of kosher salt and stir to dissolve.
