A delicious mashup of two bold whiskey drinks.

“This is a riff on a Monte Carlo, but leaning towards an Old Fashioned,” says bartender Stephanie Andrews of this bourbon cocktail from Spindle Bar in North Carolina.

Ingredients

2 oz. bourbon (Andrews uses 100-proof)
1/2 oz. Bénédictine
2 dashes chocolate bitters (or Bittermens Xocoltl Mole Bitters)
2 dashes Reagan's orange bitters

Tools:mixing glass, barspoon
Glass:Rocks
Garnish:orange peel

Preparation

Combine all of the ingredients in a mixing glass, add ice and stir for 15 seconds. Strain over a large ice cube and express an orange peel, then drop into the drink.
