This Bitter Mai Tai calls Campari to the forefront.

“I love a good Mai Tai,” says Brooklyn bartender Jeremy Oertel of this modern twist. “So I thought it would be fun to take the classic recipe and see what kind of new flavors I could introduce to it.”


  • 1 1/2 oz. Campari
  • 3/4 oz. Jamaican rum
  • 1/2 oz. orange Curaçao
  • 1 oz. fresh lime juice
  • 3/4 oz. orgeat
  • Tools:shaker, strainer
  • Glass:double Old Fashioned
  • Garnish:mint sprig


Combine ingredients with ice in a shaker and shake to chill. Strain into a glass filled with crushed ice. Garnish.
