Cherry Mint Julep

When cherries are in season, they add the perfect summer flavor to an already-delicious classic for the Cherry Mint Julep.

4 fresh Bing cherries, pitted
6 mint leaves
1 Tbsp. simple syrup (1:1)
3 oz. bourbon
Tools: cherry pitter, barspoon
Glass: silver julep cup (or highball)
Garnish: mint sprig and cherry

Combine the cherries, mint leaves, syrup in a glass and gently muddle to release and combine the flavors. Fill the glass with crushed ice. Pour in the bourbon and top with more ice to create a mound. Garnish and add a couple of straws for sipping.
