Negroni Recipe

One of the world’s most iconic classic cocktails, the Negroni was purportedly invented at Caffè Casoni in Florence, Italy, when Count Camillo asked for a bolder retelling of the Americano, with gin replacing soda water. With equal parts Campari, gin and sweet vermouth, the ruby-toned cocktail has inspired countless riffs, including the Boulevardier and the Kingston Negroni, and was helped in its recent return to fame by initiatives like Imbibe’s Negroni Week.

1 oz. gin
1 oz. Campari
1 oz. sweet vermouth
Tools: mixing glass, barspoon, strainer
Glass: cocktail or double rocks
Garnish: orange twist

Stir ingredients in a mixing glass with ice, strain into a chilled cocktail glass (or ice-filled double rocks glass) and garnish.
