Midnight in Morocco: A Floral Tequila Cocktail

Midnight in Morocco: floral tequila cocktail

A sweet and floral cocktail with Margarita vibes.

Meant to evoke a Moroccan sky with an ice sphere standing in for a full moon, this blue tequila cocktail features floral notes from the crème de violette and maraschino liqueur, citrus brightness, and a hint of heat on the finish. “It’s a wonderfully complex yet beautifully balanced cocktail,” says Devon Espinosa, the drink’s creator, “and it gives you cool, unique Margarita vibes.”

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. blanco tequila (Espinosa uses Volcan)
  • 1/2 oz. crème de violette
  • 1/2 oz. orgeat
  • 3/4 oz. fresh lime juice
  • 1/4 oz. maraschino liqueur
  • 1-2 dashes habanero bitters (Espinosa uses Scrappy's Firewater)
  • Tools:shaker, strainer, fine-mesh strainer
  • Glass:snifter or double Old Fashioned
  • Garnish:white edible flowers

Preparation

Add all of the ingredients to a shaker with ice, shake, and double strain into a glass over a ice. Garnish.
