The Porn Star Martini meets the Mezcal Margarita.

Rye Patton, bar manager of Tango Room in Dallas, reimagines the Porn Star Martini as a mezcal margarita with some heat. “Tropical fruit and habanero peppers are a match made in heaven due to the spicy pepper’s fruity and floral notes,” he says, adding that “mezcal was the logical piece to bring this simple but delicious puzzle of a cocktail together.”


  • 1 1/2 oz. mezcal
  • 3/4 oz. passion fruit liqueur
  • 1 oz. fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz. vanilla syrup
  • 3 dashes habanero tincture
  • ______________________________
  • Habanero Tincture
  • 5 oz. everclear
  • 5 oz. 100 proof vodka
  • 1 habanero pepper (quartered and partially deveined, remove all seeds and about half of the veins)
  • Peel from half of green apple
  • ______________________________
  • Smoked Lemon and Orange Peel Salt
  • 10 oz. kosher salt
  • 5 oz. Maldon smoked salt
  • 2 oz. dehydrated lemon peel
  • 2 oz. dehydrated orange peel
  • Tools:shaker, strainer
  • Glass:rocks
  • Garnish:smoked lemon and orange peel salt on rim, lime wheel


Add all of the ingredients to a shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a rimmed glass. Garnish.

Habanero TinctureCombine all of the ingredients in a bottle and let sit for 24 hours. If more time is needed, let the mixture sit until the desired spice level is achieved. Will keep indefinitely.

Smoked Lemon and Orange Peel SaltAdd the diced orange peel and lemon peel into a spice grinder and grind until pieces are sub 1 millimeter, preferably smaller but not powdered. Add salt to the grinder and pulse once.
