Drink of the Week: LS Cream Liqueur

Between the cold weather and the cozy festivities, it’s that time of year where I can’t help but crave something sweet (and a little decadent) to sip on, from eggnog to spiked hot chocolate. So when a bottle of LS Cream Liqueur (launched in Florida and newly available nationwide) crossed my desk, it quickly worked its way into my holiday drinks lineup. Rich and creamy? Sweet and boozy? Check and check.

A natural match for the celebratory season, the LS Cream Liqueur is inspired by traditional Haitian cremas—homemade beverages batched with ingredients like condensed milk, cream of coconut, and spices, spiked with clairin or rum (like Barbancourt), and served at special occasions. LS co-founders Stevens Charles and Myriam Jean-Baptiste wanted to pay homage to their Haitian heritage by sharing the flavors they loved, and they found inspiration in Charles’ grandmother’s recipe (the brand now bears her initials). Made to be adaptable in a range of cocktail recipes, the liqueur is built on a base of neutral grain spirits then mixed with fresh cream, coconut, and spices including vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Decadently sweet and creamy, the liqueur could easily stand-in for dessert, whether sipped from a cordial glass or mixed into coffee, cocoa, or a cocktail. $29, creamls.com
