In this cocktail from Bulletin Place in Sydney, cherry liqueur and fresh citrus brighten the bold pairing of scotch whisky and Campari.
1 oz. blended scotch whisky (Spector uses Johnny Walker Black)
⅔ oz. fresh lemon juice
½ oz. Campari
½ oz. fresh orange juice
2 tsp. Cherry Heering
2 tsp. simple syrup (1:1)
Chilled soda water
Garnish: orange slice and cherry
Combine all the ingredients except the soda water in a shaker and shake with a single ice cube until the cube melts. Add 1 oz. of chilled soda to the shaker and pour into an ice-filled glass, adding more soda if needed. Garnish.
