Matthew Rowley is an historian and former museum curator. He has served on the boards of the Southern Foodways Alliance and the Museum Council of Greater Philadelphia. Rowley is the author of Moonshine! (2007) and the James Beard Award-finalist Lost Recipes of Prohibition (2015). He is a contributor and editor for David Wondrich’s Oxford Companion to Spirits and Cocktails (2021) and a frequent judge for spirits organizations as well as for Tales of the Cocktail’s Spirited Awards. The Kansas City native lives in Southern California.
