The ingredients for this white mulled wine connect it with Germany and Austria, making it as appropriate for Grünauer’s concept as it is for the season.
1 bottle dry German Riesling or Austrian Grüner Veltliner wine
3 ½ oz. Bärenjäger honey liqueur
3 oz. Bitter Truth Pimento Dram
4 thick lemon wheels, studded with whole cloves
4 thick orange wheels, studded with whole cloves
Tools: crockpot, punch ladle
Glass: Irish coffee glasses or ceramic coffee cups
Garnish: lemon wheel, studded with whole cloves
Combine the liquid ingredients in a crockpot and turn onto the lowest setting. Stud four thick wheels each of lemon and orange with whole cloves and float in wine as it heats. Heat slowly, bringing it almost to a boil (but do not allow to boil), and then hold at a simmer while serving.
