The Dixie Cocktail

This classic from Tom Bullock’s 1919 The Ideal Bartender is basically “a fancy Whiskey Cocktail (aka Old Fashioned), with dashes of Curaçao and creme de menthe,” says Erik Adkins. 

2 oz. bourbon
1 barspoon gomme syrup (or 2:1 simple syrup)
1 barspoon Grand Mariner
1 dash Angostura bitters
4 dashes crème de menthe
Tools: barspoon
Glass: rocks
Garnish: lemon peel

Pour ingredients in a rocks glass with a large ice cube and stir for 10 seconds, then garnish.
