Daddy’s Daiq: A Daiquiri Recipe

For this Daiquiri recipe, Salt Lake City bartender and Imbibe 75’er Daddy Long Legs (aka Michael George) blends fragrant rums from Martinique and Hawai’i (the latter from Imbibe 75 alum Kuleana Rum Works, a blend of their own Hawaiian sugarcane rum with rums from Martinique and Papua New Guinea) with the spice of falernum and the herbaceous character of Chartreuse. The drink is lightly sweetened with gum syrup, a sugar syrup emulsified with gum arabic. If that’s unavailable, substitute a rich simple syrup (2:1).

Ingredients

  • Tools:shaker, strainer
  • Glass:coupe
  • Garnish:fresh or dehydrated lime wheel

Preparation

Shake all of the ingredients with ice, then strain into a chilled glass, and garnish.
