Happy Camper: A Smoky Maple Vanilla Latte

Frank La, co-owner of Imbibe 75 Place To Watch Be Bright Coffee in Los Angeles, wanted a cold-weather alternative to the ubiquitous pumpkin spice latte. So he turned to a maple vanilla latte created by friend and fellow barista Truman Severson of Hopper and Burr in Santa Ana, California, and adapted it for his new Melrose Avenue coffee shop. Since LA winters can be temperate, the latte—called The Happy Camper—is also available iced.

Ingredients

  • Glass:coffee cup
  • Garnish:smoked sea salt

Preparation

Add the maple syrup, vanilla syrup, and espresso to a cup and stir to combine. If serving hot, steam the milk, then pour it into the mixture. If serving cold, add the espresso mixture to a glass filled with ice, then top with milk and garnish.
