Drink of the Week: Rhum Barbancourt 15

Rhum Barbancourt 15 Estate Reserve is an especially elegant spirit. Twice-distilled in copper pot stills, then aged in French oak barrels, the Reserve sings with aromas of tropical fruit, oaky spice, and caramelized brown sugar. On the palate, it offers a luxurious mouthfeel and notes of citrus and spice.

Produced by Société du Rhum Barbancourt, Haiti’s oldest distillery, Rhum Barbancourt is known as the Cognac of rums. Unlike many other island rums, it’s made directly from sugar cane juice, pressed from hand-cut and locally grown cane.

Overseen by Delphine Gardère, who took the helm in 2017, the distillery’s lineup also includes an unaged blanc, a 4-year-old, and an 8-year-old.

Enjoy the Rhum Barbancourt 15 on its own or mixed in a special cocktail. It’s also one to think about gifting to the rum enthusiasts in your circle. Check drizly.com for pricing and availability.
