Drink of the Week: Natalie’s Guava Lemonade

Few flavors manage to elicit fervent excitement in my household quite like guava. There’s just something about it—the soft pink hue, the unmistakable aroma, the escapist, tropical flavor. So it’s unsurprising that the Guava Lemonade from Natalie’s Orchid Island Juice Company was an immediate and enthusiastic hit. Given both how delicious it is on its own, and its natural compatibility as a mixer, the Guava Lemonade may become my official drink of the summer.

A Florida-based, family-owned company, Natalie’s has been bottling juices for decades, starting with their estate citrus is 1989. Still aiming to source all their produce as close to home as possible, Natalie’s now makes an extensive line of fruit and veggie juices, all pressed fresh and minimally processed, with a bright flavor that reflects it. The Guava Lemonade is redolent with the fruit’s sweet, tropical aroma and flavor, balanced nicely with the tart kick of fresh lemonade. It would be a perfect, one-step summer mixer with agave spirits, vodka, or a tropical twist Mimosa. But honestly, I happily stand in front of the fridge and drink it straight from the jug because it’s just so dang good. $45.99/4, 16-oz. bottles, shop.orchidislandjuice.com
