The Ace Hotel New Orleans Debuts In-Room Cocktail Kits

ace-hotel-new orleansSince opening its first location in Seattle in 1999, the Ace Hotel has been a pioneer of playful and eclectic design. Now with a new location opening in New Orleans, the hotel is reimagining the concept of the mini bar. Embracing a retro aesthetic, every room includes a colorful Smeg refrigerator complemented by custom-curated bar kits.

The Ace isn’t the first hotel to upgrade the mini bar. Others like New York City’s Gild Hall and the Mandarin Oriental in San Francisco provide Mason Shaker sets and house-made bottled cocktails, but the Ace Hotel New Orleans aims to elevate the in-room drinking experience even more.

Their custom cocktail kits include offerings like whiskey, sweet and dry vermouth, and sherry, with mixers like East Imperial Burma Tonic and locally made kombucha Big Easy Bucha, along with Underberg bitters and fresh fruit. All the necessary tools are provided, including a jigger, peeler, glassware, mixing guide and a custom cutting board and shaker by Uhuru that will be available for purchase. “New Orleans has always been a place that celebrates a good time and good drinks,” says Lucinda Weed, beverage manager for the hotel. “We want to offer something special for our guests that captures that spirit, and also encourages them to participate.”
