Grapefruit bitters and star anise add a subtle perk to this simple gin sour.
2 oz. gin
1 oz. fresh lemon juice
¾ oz. simple syrup (1:1)
½ oz. fresh egg white (pasteurized, if you like)
1 star anise pod
3 dashes grapefruit bitters
Tools: shaker, strainer
Garnish: star anise pod
Add all the ingredients to shaker. Dry shake (no ice) for 30 seconds. Add ice. Shake vigorously until well chilled. Strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish.
