Kyle Webster inherited this daiquiri recipe from his time working at House Spirits, maker of Krogstad Aquavit, and he added it to the opening menu at Expatriate. “It’s a very simple drink but beloved by many,” Webster says. He uses Krogstad in the mix but says most styles of aquavit will work.
2 oz. aquavit
1 oz. fresh lime juice
¾ oz. simple syrup (1:1—Expatriate uses palm sugar)
Tools: shaker, strainer
Glass: cocktail
Garnish: star anise
Shake all the ingredients with ice, then strain into a chilled glass; garnish.
