The Sun

Celebrate the holiday season by way of Singapore.

Less than 100 miles north of the equator, Singapore doesn’t experience wintry weather typically associated with the holidays. But the metropolis is a tapestry of cultural influences with celebrations occurring year-round, such as Diwali (the Hindu festival of lights) and the Chinese Lunar New Year. Appropriately, avant-garde cocktail destination Tippling Club offers an ever changing menu of celebratory drinks, such as this cocktail, fittingly dubbed The Sun.

Ingredients

  • 1 3⁄4 oz. white rum
  • 3⁄4 oz. fresh lemon juice
  • 1⁄2 oz. rich honey syrup (3:1 ratio)
  • 3 dashes Peychaud’s Bitters
  • 1 dash Tabasco
  • Tools:shaker, strainer
  • Glass:rocks
  • Garnish:lemon twist

Preparation

Shake all of the ingredients with ice until chilled. Strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice, then garnish.
