The Poet’s Martini

Martinis

Bénédictine adds a touch of richness to this simple riff.

Of this Martini variation created by New York bartender Damon Boelte, The Martini author Matt Hranek says, “The hint of Bénédictine liqueur brings barely detectable floral and herbaceous notes that don’t get in the way of the gin.”

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. London Dry gin
  • 3/4 oz. dry vermouth
  • 1/4 oz. Bénédictine
  • Tools:shaker, strainer
  • Glass:coupe
  • Garnish:lemon twist

Preparation

Combine the gin, vermouth, and liqueur in a shaker with ice. Shake, strain into a chilled coupe, then garnish.
