Split-Base Cocktail: Home Base

Two agave spirits warm up with sweet spice.

From Raised by Wolves in San Diego, this split-base cocktail combines two types of agave spirits, plus a bouquet of warm spice, vanilla, and chocolate flavors from the addition of crème de cacao, allspice dram, and Angostura bitters.


  • 1 oz. reposado tequila
  • 1 oz. mezcal
  • 1/4 oz. crème de cacao
  • 1/4 oz. St. Elizabeth Allspice Dram
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters 
  • Tools:barspoon
  • Glass:rocks
  • Garnish:orange twist 


Combine all of the ingredients in a rocks glass. Add ice and stir briefly. Garnish.
