A simple yet sophisticated tropical cocktail.

A summery twist on the Negroni, this Panamericano uses a coconut-infused mezcal, lending tropical vibes to a simple yet sophisticated cocktail. “Its simple prep and complex flavor profile make the Panamericano one of my go-tos, especially for summertime entertaining,” says Christopher Reyes, partner and beverage director of Aldama in Brooklyn.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz. coconut-infused mezcal
  • 1 oz. Cocchi Americano bianco
  • 1 oz. blanc vermouth (Aldama uses Dolin)
  • Tools:barspoon, strainer
  • Glass:coupe
  • Garnish:grapefruit twist

Preparation

Stir all of the ingredients with ice, then strain into a chilled coupe, and garnish.

Coconut-Infused MezcalCombine 200 grams of dried, unsweetened shredded coconut with 1 liter of mezcal in a sealable container. Infuse at room temperature for at least 48 hours. Strain and bottle for use.
