Oaxacan Dead, A Tequila Zombie

The classic Zombie gets an earthy update thanks to the addition of tequila and mezcal.


  • 3/4 oz. reposado tequila
  • 3/4 oz. aged Jamaican rum
  • 3/4 oz. fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz. velvet falernum
  • 1/2 oz. Donn's mix (1:1 grapefruit juice to cinnamon syrup)
  • 1 tsp. mezcal
  • 1 tsp. grenadine
  • 1 dash Angostura bitters
  • Tools:shaker, strainer
  • Glass:decorative mug
  • Garnish:mint sprig, grapefruit twist, fresh grated cinnamon and cherry


Add all of the the ingredients to a shaker and shake with one ice cube. Pour over crushed ice into a mug, then garnish.
