Michelada From Lolita New York

For New York City’s Lolita, Beverage Director Marshall Minaya and head bartender Carlos Kennedy-Lopez went the umami route with their Michelada recipe, using 4 oz. of Clamato in addition to Worcestershire sauce and Maggi seasoning sauce. They then balance that savoriness with the subtle heat from tajín and hot sauce and the brightness of fresh lime juice and a light Mexican lager, making for an irresistible beer cocktail.

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle lager, chilled
  • 4 oz. Clamato
  • 1 oz. fresh lime juice
  • 2 barspoon Worchestershire sauce
  • 1 barspoon Salsa Valentina (Extra Hot)
  • 3 dashes Maggi seasoning sauce
  • 1 pinch tajin
  • Glass:pint
  • Garnish:chamoy rim and tajin-salt

Preparation

Rim a glass with chamoy and tajin. Add the drink ingredients, except the beer, to the prepped glass. Pour beer up to wash line under the chamoy and tajin-salt.
