Maple Leaf, A Whiskey Sour Riff

Fall flavors abound in this simple mix.

This ­simple ­spin ­on ­a ­Whiskey ­Sour­ combines ­the ­richness ­of ­maple ­syrup with the ­spice ­of cinnamon.­


  • 2 ­oz.­ rye­ whiskey
  • ¾ oz. ­fresh­ lemon­ juice
  • ¾ ­oz. ­thinned­ maple­ syrup
  • Tools:­shaker,­ strainer
  • Glass:cocktail
  • Garnish:grated ­cinnamon


Combine­ all of the ingredients­ in ­a ­shaker­ and­ fill ­with ­ice. ­Shake ­to chill,­ strain­ in to ­a­ chilled ­glass­, then garnish.

Thinned Maple Syrup:­ Combine­­ 4­ oz.­ of­ grade B maple­ syrup ­with­ 2  oz.­ of­ water,­ then ­stir ­to­ combine.­ Refrigerate for up to 1 week.
