Kiss With a Fist: A Sake Negroni

Kiss With a Fist Negroni

A floral warm-weather white-ish Negroni.

Negroni Week participant Lady Jane of Denver wanted to create a cherry blossom-inspired white Negroni with a little extra bitterness, “so we added a splash of Campari, which brought the whole cocktail together with a bit more citrus and a nice bitter kick,” says general manager Stuart Weaver of the recipe by Beth St. John.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz. gin
  • 1 oz. floral sake (Lady Jane uses Dewazakura "Cherry Bouquet" Sake)
  • 3/4 oz. Salers
  • 1/4 oz. Campari
  • 1/4 oz. apricot liqueur (Lady Jane uses Rothman & Winter)
  • Tools:mixing glass, barspoon, strainer
  • Glass:double Old Fashioned
  • Garnish:orange peel (optional: pink-purple flower)

Preparation

Add all of the ingredients to an ice-filled mixing glass, stir, and strain over a large ice cube in a double Old Fashioned glass.
