Fernet-Branca anchors this brooding sipper.

While demonstrating the versatility of the classic Daiquiri formula, Deep Dive beverage director Tommy Stearns landed on this variation of Ted Kilgore’s equal-parts Industry Sour cocktail, pairing a robust digestif liqueur with lime juice and a French herbal liqueur. “It’s big, bold, and aggressive, hence the name,” Stearns says. “This shows that the lime-sugar-spirit combo works even with big flavors like Fernet-Branca and Chartreuse.”


  • 1 1⁄2 oz. Fernet-Branca
  • 1⁄2 oz. green Chartreuse
  • 1⁄2 oz. simple syrup (1:1)
  • 1⁄2 oz. fresh lime juice
  • Tools:shaker, strainer
  • Glass:Nick & Nora


Shake all of the ingredients with ice, then strain into a chilled glass.
