Looking for an alternative to the vodka-based Espresso Martini, Buck & Breck brushed up a 1930s recipe using rhum agricole.


  • 1½ oz. rhum agricole
  • ⅔ oz. espresso
  • 1 tsp. rich simple syrup (2:1)
  • Tools:shaker, strainer
  • Glass:cocktail
  • Garnish:coffee beans


Shake all of the ingredients with ice, then strain into a chilled glass. Garnish.
