Bella Donna bell pepper cocktail

A tropical and herbaceous tequila cocktail.

This standby from The Courtesy in Winter Park, Florida, combines bright, tropical notes with a hint of herbaceousness.

Ingredients

1 1/2 oz. blanco tequila
3/4 oz. bell pepper–infused Aperol
1/2 oz. fresh lime juice
1/2 oz. pineapple syrup (1:1 fresh pineapple juice to sugar)
4 basil leaves
1 tsp. Ancho Reyes Verde

Tools:shaker, strainer, fine strainer
Glass:Collins
Garnish:orchid

Preparation

Rinse a glass with Ancho Reyes Verde, discarding the excess, then fill with ice. Shake all of the remaining ingredients with ice, then double strain into the prepared glass and add the garnish.

Bell Pepper-Infused AperolCombine 340 grams of freshly cut orange bell pepper with 1 liter of Aperol. Infuse for 6 hours, then strain and bottle. Use within 1 month.
