Tribune Oakland's Almonds in Alameda vodka cocktail

A fruity and nutty vodka sipper.

The richness of apricot and orgeat combine forces in this vodka cocktail hailing from Oakland, California. The drink’s name is a nod to neighboring Alameda, home to distilleries including Hangar 1, whose vodka is used in the cocktail.

Ingredients

2 oz. vodka
3/4 oz. fresh lemon juice
1/2 oz. orgeat
1/2 oz. apricot liqueur

Tools:shaker, strainer, fine strainer
Glass:rocks
Garnish:dehydrated lemon wheel, Peychaud's bitters

Preparation

Add all of the ingredients to an ice-filled cocktail shaker, then shake and double strain into a rocks glass over a large ice cube. Garnish with a dehydrated lemon wheel and Peychaud’s bitters.
