At Limantour in Mexico City, the Michelada TJ was inspired by flavors of Tijuana, with fresh cucumber balancing the savory notes, and a hit of mezcal for boldness.
½ oz. chopped cucumber
1½ oz. tomato juice
1½ oz. Clamato
½ oz. mezcal
¾ oz. fresh lime juice
1 bottle of Mexican lager (Limantour uses Pacifico)
Glass: large beer or cider glass
Garnish: sal de gusano
Rim the glass with the sal de gusano, then add the cucumber and lightly muddle. Add ice and the remaining ingredients except the beer. Top the drink with a cold Mexican lager and serve.
