Hale Pele’s Mai Tai

hale pele mai taiRum’s sweet strength is tempered with a zing of fresh lime juice and a pour of almond-forward orgeat in the Hale Pele Mai Tai.

1 ½ oz. Jamaican rum
½ oz. overproof Jamaican rum
¾ oz. orgeat
¾ oz. fresh lime juice
½ oz. dry curacao
Tools: shaker tin
Glass: double rocks
Garnish: mint sprig

Add all ingredients, plus spent lime shell, and 8 ounces of crushed ice to a shaker tin. Shake until the shaker is frosted, pour into a glass. Top with additional crushed ice to fill the glass. Garnish.
