The Black-Owned Wine & Spirits Festival Returns With an Expanded Venue and Vision

The Black-Owned Wine and Spirits Festival (BOWSFest) returns for its 9th year on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the Hamilton Hotel in Washington, D.C. This groundbreaking festival celebrates and spotlights Black-owned wine, beer, and spirits brands from around the world—and this year promises to be the biggest yet.

For the first time, the festival will debut the Black Owned Spirits Awards (BOSA), a new global program dedicated to honoring excellence in Black-owned liquor brands. Winners will be announced at an exclusive industry showcase the night before the festival, offering recognition across categories like Best Packaging, Best in Category, and Fan Favorite.

Founded by Chanel Turner, BOWSFest was designed to level the playing field and create real opportunities for minority-owned brands. With over 1,500 bottles sold at last year’s event, the festival is on track to reach its $1 million direct-to-brand sales goal by 2026.

Festival-goers can expect VIP experiences, spirits education and mixology sessions, curated culinary tastings, and a bustling Tasting & Bottle Market featuring more than 40 producers. Attendees can purchase bottles on-site or have them delivered straight to their door the same day via the festival’s retail partner, Housebar.

Whether you’re a spirits enthusiast, wine lover, or just curious to explore the vibrant world of Black-owned beverage brands, BOWSFest is an unforgettable experience rooted in culture, celebration, and community.
