Drink of the Week: Onyx Coffee Lab Ethiopia Banko Gotiti

Continuing our series of Drink of the Week recs from this year’s Imbibe 75, Steven Moloney of Barista League picks one of his favorite coffees of the moment—the Ethiopia Banko Gotiti from Onyx Coffee Lab (which also happened to be our 2016 Imbibe 75 Coffee Bar of the Year). As a champion barista, Moloney makes his home in Sweden but is lucky enough to taste coffees from all over the world. “I got to try this coffee for the first time when we were in the States last year on our USA Tour,” says Moloney. “I took a small bag home and hid it away in the freezer for a rainy day. That day came and the coffee went very quickly.” The Banko Gotiti has also become one of Onyx Coffee Lab’s favorite annual harvests from Ethiopia, with sweet floral notes of honeysuckle and jasmine.
