Drink of the Week: Meinklang Prosa Natural Sparkling Rosé

Maybe you’re heading to a holiday party. Or it’s the end of a long year and you’re eager to sit on the couch with tortilla chips, salsa, and a movie you’ve seen several times before. In these and many other scenarios, Meinklang Prosa is what I want in my glass. 

Deeply pigmented, this is a sparkling rosé for all seasons. I’ve brought bottles to more house parties than I can count, and the wine holds its own at the dinner table, too. Its juicy red fruit flavors and crisp finish are versatile enough to pair with roast turkey, biryani, pork or veggie tamales, crispy calamari, and more.

Meinklang is a family operation in Burgenland, Austria, an eastern region near the Hungarian border that’s typically associated with red wine varieties like Blaufränkisch and Zweigelt. The 2,000-hectare estate has been certified-organic and -biodynamic since 2002. It’s permaculture biome, which means it also has cattle, pigs, and other farm animals alongside apple orchards and grain fields.
