Bitter Mai Tai

bitter mai tai“I love a good Mai Tai,” says Brooklyn bartender Jeremy Oertel of this modern twist. “So I thought it would be fun to take the classic recipe and see what kind of new flavors I could introduce to it.”

1 ½ oz. Campari
¾ oz. Jamaican rum
½ oz. orange Curaçao
1 oz. fresh lime juice
¾ oz. orgeat
Tools: shaker, strainer
Glass: double Old Fashioned
Garnish: mint sprig

Combine ingredients with ice in a shaker and shake to chill. Strain into a glass filled with crushed ice. Garnish.
