Classic Sloe Gin Fizz

Perhaps the most classic use of sloe gin, the Sloe Gin Fizz brings vibrancy and life to the tart liqueur.

1 ½ oz. sloe gin
¾ oz. fresh lemon juice
1 tsp. sugar
Club soda
1 fresh egg white (optional)
Tools: shaker, strainer
Glass: highball

Combine the lemon juice and sugar in a shaker and mix to dissolve the sugar; add the sloe gin (and, if using, egg white). Fill the shaker with ice and shake well for 10 seconds. Strain into a glass and top with 2-3 ounces chilled club soda, to taste.
