Soak up the sunshine with this floral and bittersweet spritz.

Inspired by Japanese restaurant Nami Nori’s view of McCarren Park in Brooklyn, cocktail consultant Molly McClintock pulled together the refreshing elements of brunchy cocktails like the Aperol Spritz, Salty Dog, and Spumoni. The result is this floral, bittersweet spritz recipe with a touch of savory notes courtesy of sesame oil.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz. gin
  • 1 barspoon Campari
  • 1/2 oz. grapefruit juice
  • 1 drop sesame oil
  • 1/2 oz. miso honey
  • dry sparkling wine
  • Tools:shaker
  • Glass:goblet
  • Garnish:grapefruit slice

Preparation

Add all of the ingredients, except the sparkling wine, to a shaker with ice. Shake for about 20 times and pour into the glass over fresh ice. Top with the sparkling wine. Garnish.
Miso HoneyCombine 1 Tbsp. of sweet white miso, 2 cups of honey, and 1 cup of water in a blender. Blend well and strain through a coffee filter. Will keep for a month stored in an air-tight container in the refrigerator.
