Pomponella: A Lambrusco Spritz

“I wanted to do a bittersweet spritz with rosé notes that leaned floral,” says Bar Louise beverage director Matthew Thorp. To accomplish this, he uses Amaro Nonino to bring in caramel, sweet orange, and gentian notes that add complexity to the cocktail while still allowing Lambrusco’s floral and berry flavors to shine through.

Ingredients

  • 3 oz. Lambrusco
  • 1 1/2 oz. Amaro Nonino
  • 1 oz. soda water
  • 4 dashes orange bitters
  • Glass:wine
  • Garnish:orange crescent and olive

Preparation

Add all of the ingredients to a wine glass, add ice, and stir. Garnish.
