Vermouth is one of our flavors to watch for 2016, and simple drinks like this cobbler cocktail from Bellocq in New Orleans perfectly spotlight the complex flavor of the fortified wine.
3 oz. sweet vermouth
¼ oz. simple syrup
2 strips of orange peel
Tools: shaker, strainer
Glass: julep cup or cobbler cup
Garnish: orange and strawberry segments
Briefly shake the ingredients with ice to chill; strain into a cup filled with crushed ice. Garnish.
