Drink of the Week: Olympia Coffee Mikuba Micro Lot 8

This micro-lot coffee from Washington’s Olympia Coffee not only comes from a specific crop on Mikuba Hill in Burundi, Africa, but specifically from the eighth day of harvest and was one of the favorites among Olympia’s tasters. The Mikuba Hill coffees are grown by a large collection of farming families who are part of the Long Miles Coffee Project, organized by Ben and Kristy Carlson (our 2016 Coffee People of the Year) to help improve the economic stability in Burundi and the quality of its coffee—a new favorite among roasters across the U.S. The Mikuba Micro Lot 8 has delicate flavors of tea and stone fruit, complemented by a little brown sugar sweetness. $18.50, olympiacoffee.com
