This garden-to-glass cocktail from bartender Evan Zimmerman highlights seasonal ingredients, many of which are grown and/or produced around his hometown of Portland, Oregon.
1 1/2 oz. Clear Creek apple brandy
3/4 oz. fresh lemon juice
3/4 oz. fresh-pressed apple juice
1/2 oz. Averna
1 tsp. apple butter
Tools: shaker, strainer, fine strainer
Glass: white wine rimmed with a mix of equal parts sugar and dried thyme ground together in a spice grinder
Combine all ingredients in shaker with ice. Shake well and double-strain into a chilled glass.
