Analogue’s take on the Southside cocktail brings cucumber and vodka to the requisite mix of mint, lemon and syrup. “The West 8th was one of our original house cocktails, and it has truly stood the test of time,” says co-owner Jared Gordon. “It’s interesting and approachable.” Like the original, this version also tastes great with gin.
3 slices cucumber
2 oz. vodka
1 oz. fresh lemon juice
½ oz. simple syrup (1:1)
1½ oz. club soda
Mint
Tools: shaker, strainer
Glass: coupe
Garnish:
Muddle the mint and cucumber in a mixing tin. Add ice, vodka, lemon juice and simple syrup and shake to chill. Strain into a chilled coupe and top with the soda.
