The Dancer: Gin Fizz Riff

In this gin fizz riff from LA bar the Friend, the sweetness of sloe gin and crème de mûre tangos with the brightness of fresh lemon juice and Champagne for a perfectly balanced cocktail.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz. of gin
  • 1 oz. of sloe gin
  • 3/4 oz. of fresh lemon juice
  • 3/4 oz. of simple syrup (1:1)
  • 3/4 oz. of fresh egg white
  • 1/2 oz. of crème de mûre
  • 1 oz. chilled sparkling wine
  • Tools:shaker, strainer, fine strainer
  • Glass:coupe
  • Garnish:Spritz of Angostura bitters

Preparation

Add all the ingredients except the sparkling wine to a shaker and dry shake to combine. Add ice to the shaker and shake again to chill. Double strain the cocktail into a coupe, top with the sparkling wine, and garnish the frothy top with a spritz of Angostura bitters (the bar uses a blend of cassis and bitters to spritz).
