The Butterscotch Den Freezer Martini

The Butterscotch Den Freezer Martini

A softer, crowd-pleasing take.

This Freezer Martini served at The Butterscotch Den in Sacramento is the bar’s top-selling drink. With a lower ABV than other freezer-stored Martinis, the mixture may potentially freeze solid (depending on your freezer settings). Be sure to leave some extra room at the top of the bottle for the liquid to expand—and should the bottle freeze, place it in the refrigerator until it loosens up, and give it a good shake before serving.

Ingredients

Yield:7
  • 10 1/2 oz. London dry gin (The Butterscotch Den uses Fords)
  • 5 1/4 oz. dry vermouth
  • 5 1/4 oz. blanc vermouth
  • 5 1/4 oz. filtered water
  • Tools:750ml bottle
  • Glass:cocktail
  • Garnish:olives, lemon twists, or cocktail onions

Preparation

Combine all of the ingredients in a sturdy bottle, leaving room at the top for the liquid to expand. Place in the freezer for several hours, until thoroughly chilled but not frozen solid. To serve, pour into chilled glasses, and garnish as desired.
