Stone’s Throw From Juniper and Ivy

What started as an exercise in balance became a favorite cocktail at Juniper and Ivy in San Diego. “I wanted something bright, grounded, herbal, and refreshing—a cocktail that felt like it belonged in the roaring ’20s, whether in a dimly lit bar or on a sun-drenched patio,” says bar lead Alex Siegelin.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz. London dry gin
  • 1 oz. Cynar
  • 3/4 oz. dry curaçao
  • 3/4 oz. fresh lemon juice
  • 5-6 loose mint leaves
  • Tools:shaker, strainer
  • Glass:coupe
  • Garnish:dehydrated lemon wheel

Preparation

Add all the ingredients to a shaker with ice. Shake to chill and strain into the glass. Garnish.
NOTE“This can also be made with vodka, and you can replace the curaçao with triple sec or any orange liqueur.”
